My students need more storage and space to read! We also need a few office essentials such as a new pencil and crayon sharpener, and electric stapler to make more use of our time.
My first grade students are excited and eager for this year's learning challenges. Our diversity makes our classroom whole and complete, as we each can bring our own personal experiences and perspectives to create well-rounded conversations and projects.
They strive to be the best and greatest at everything they do.
With this year's goals and projects in mind, we need some items that can really help make our year even greater!
We live in San Antonio, Texas and we attend a small public charter STEM school campus of around 200 students. We come from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, including Hispanic Americans, African Americans, and Indian Americans to name a few. Since our campus is quite small, and we are a charter school, we are often underserved in many respects. Please consider helping out in any way that you can! It will be put to great use, and greatly appreciated by my 5 and 6 year olds!
My Project
This year, my students started off eager as ever and ready to be amazing readers. So much so however, they argue over who gets to sit in our cozy library space. By getting an additional bench for storage and seating, my students will have more space to spread out and read! In addition, we are requesting a new pencil sharpener as ours is on its last leg. We are requesting a reading nook with storage so that we have another location for the students to split up and read. In addition, this nook has shelving underneath to help us clear up the clutter in our classroom. We need a home for our STEM resources, so the nook will house those manipulatives. In addition, Mrs. Batten spends a lot of time stapling and three hole punching papers. From homework to newsletters, a hole punch and stapler will help speed up the time it takes to complete daily tasks so we can focus on what's important- learning!
