My Students

My classroom is a very special and exciting place, in which my students are always eager to learn! They are respectful, yet interactive. They are fun to talk to and they are very witty. I teach my students primarily 8th grade Physics along with different teaching assignments each year such as 9th grade Mathematics. Throughout teaching all incoming 8th graders in the high school building that I teach, I am proud to say that I have taught and interacted with over 99% of all the students in the building. I am trying to challenge myself to become a National Board Certified teacher so that I can upgrade my credential as a teacher.

My Project

The grant will serve as a scholarship for me to go through a rigorous teaching evaluation process offered by a service called National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Basically, this project will help get funding to go through the certification process, in which I must fulfill 5 propositions: (1) be committed to students and their learning, (2) know the subjects I teach and monitor student learning, (3) think systematically about my practice and learn from experience, and (5) be a member of learning community. I must submit strong and rigorous artifacts and pass online assessments evaluated by the National Board in order to be certified. Artifacts consists of recorded classroom teaching video, student work, and more. The process may take 1 to 5 years. Fulfillment of this project will help me grow professionally via this certification process. Please consider helping me out! Thank you in advance!
