Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials are for an afterschool club that will invite 3rd - 5th graders to go on a tabletop journey where they will be challenged to problem solve and make connections to literary elements.

Playing RPGs with a group of peers will not only teach critical thinking and problem-solving skills, but it will also allow them to practice teamwork and cooperation to achieve a goal.

Beyond this, students will be guided to identify literary elements present in their journey and discuss how this relates to the reading skills they are practicing in class. Students will be writing about the story their characters are experiencing in first person to practice these skills as well.

This is an incredibly entertaining way to practice some important literary skills.
