My classroom is overflowing with potential. Each student brings his or her unique personality and passion for learning. These students are in a Title I school but do not wish to be defined by labels.
"Be the change you want to see in the world" is the phrase on the outside of our classroom door to encourage my students to be problem solvers from the first day of school.
The school is home to a diverse student population and is located in an equally ethnically-diverse community.
By using the Scholastic News and Science Spin, my students will be exposed to current events and issues that affect their environment. These reading materials peak the curiousity of children.
Due to today's technology, most people ask a gadget general questions to acquire information and do not take the next step in learning by discovering "how" to solve issues through exploration and problem solving.
As a result of analyzing the magazines' articles, exposure to the Growth Mindset, and problem solving strategies my students will become better students. Ultimately it will diminish an apathetic approach to life and ignite a spirited citizen.
