This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a low-income school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. They face many challenges, challenges many people will never experience in their lifetime. I am always amazed at the great attitudes, love of learning, and kind hearts my kids have, regardless of the challenges they face. They are eager to learn and prepared to make great gains.

My Project

During our time of summer online learning, we encouraged students to continue taking AR quizzes. For each quiz they passed, their name was entered into a drawing. We drew names and then delivered prizes to ten students each week. The students and their families LOVED taking part in this program. We'd love to continue doing it, but have run out of prizes. Your donation will help ensure that this program continues.

These basketballs will serve a dual purpose; they will reward the efforts of my students while also encouraging them to get outside and get active.
