I teach fourth grade in a small rural school in Washington state. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
Theodore Roosevelt said, "It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed." This is so important and necessary for our students in this day in age.
Our students seek to learn and be challenged, which is something that our everyday curriculum and standards don't always promote.
My students are working so hard to achieve goals set for them. I really would like to get a treasure chest and prizes to reward them. I know when they get prizes it lights up their faces. This will allow me to have prizes for them as they do great work through out the year. Students earn classroom money for reaching their goals, and this classroom money can be spent on items in the prize box.

Prize box items that are highly sought after are slime, stuffed animals, splatter balls, etc. Students love squishy balls, key chains, stuffed animals, animal erasers, puff balls, and other fun items rewarding students for reaching their individual classroom goals. The prize system at school encourages them to strive for excellence and motivates them to be excited about their education.
Please help me bring more smiles to my loving students faces. I can't thank you enough for your support through donors choose. It gives my students things they would never of had the chance to get.
