I love to use positive reinforcement in my classroom! I utilized a classroom economy as a management technique but also to introduce children to basic financial literacy. By doing so my students are able to learn the basics of responsibility, and the idea of earning rewards bit by bit.
Students earn class tokens by being great classroom citizens, completing their jobs, participating in class, and completing their school work.
They are also learning to speak the english language so these little prizes are exciting for my ESL students .
Hopefully, when they leave my class they will take with them the idea that having a positive mindset is beneficial and feels good. As well as the basic knowledge that it takes time and effort to earn a reward and it also takes time to learn the English Language .
Of course all of those prizes are costly. I would love some financial help to offer amazing incentives (key chains, stress balls, plush toys) this year and help my students realize that doing the right thing pays off!! Please help support our project.
