My Project

My 4th grade class earns points for certain positive behaviors. Those points turn into classroom money, where they can go shopping in the classroom shop once every other week.

The points earned are for getting a "10" in their specials class, staying on task, working together, keeping our classroom clean, keeping their desk clean, getting paid for their classroom job, winning a learning competition, etc.

The supplies in my list consist of various rewards that my students can "buy" with their earned classroom money, such as stuffed animals, spy pens, and fidget toys. The shop is open every other week and my kids are always excited when that time comes around.

They are learning to save money, use money, and earn money. If a student really wants something that costs a little more money, they save for it. Others will spend every dime they have. Either way, they have to earn their points/money through good behaviors, following rules, and working together. It is a perfect system for all of my scholars and for me!
