My Students

We have about two classes per grade level with a total population of about 400 at my school. We are a suburban school in a large school district.

My school has a diverse socioeconomic population that has changed during the 21 years that I have taught here.

Student socioeconomic status ranges from lower class to upper-middle class. Our free and reduced-price lunch percentage has risen considerably while I have taught at this school.

The educational levels of our families range from high school drop-outs to doctors. Our goal is to have each student finish high school and many attend college.

My Project

This project will allow my students to have their own space while helping to eliminate distractions. Testing is part of the the school culture. With the privacy shields, the students will have their space and still feel like they are part of the group.

The Privacy Shields and Storage Area Project will allow my students to easily and neatly store their shields.

Our class will be functional and fashionable, as our supplies are accessible and organized.

DonorsChoose.org has allowed me to create a remodeled classroom with furniture and organizational materials with a purpose. The privacy shields and storage area will become the next phase in my classroom makeover plan.
