Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My third grade students attend school in the heart of Washington D.C. My students represent a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, and ability levels. On a day to day basis, my students are accessing the curriculum in a number of ways. We use cooperative groups, independent activities, and technology to learn the skills that my students need to grow their skills in reading and math.

In order for my students to have access to these varied learning opportunities, we need supplies!

Headphones and privacy shields are just two examples of materials that will help us be as productive as possible while learning.

My Project

Group work is an important learning tool for students in all subject areas. Students benefit from the opportunity to work through problems and create projects together. My students love to work collaboratively, but when they do need to work independently, they would benefit from a little extra privacy.

Having access to privacy partitions would allow my students to focus on their work and show what they are able to do!

When my students are able to focus, they are able to successfully complete their work and feel proud of their accomplishments. These privacy partitions will provide my students with the tools that they need to remain focused and on task during their independent work.
