Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a in the middle of a small neighborhood within a tight knit community. I teach 5th grade to students who are working hard to be successful when they go to middle school. Many of them are learning English as a new language and I am so proud of the progress I see every day. All of my students are amazing when working with the multiple special needs students we have in our class.

I love the trust that we have in our classroom!

My students respect me as much I respect them. We talk candidly about this respect, how to treat others, how to achieve our goals, and how we can overcome our fears. Every year I look forward to a new class that I can build this type of relationship with.

My Project

I am a second year teacher (my first year was all digital) and I am now teaching 5th grade math at a low income school where room can get a little crowded.

I really want my students to have a comfortable work space where they can think and focus without any distractions.

The privacy folders will do wonders when it comes time for independent work in my classroom. My students sit in groups of 4, which is great for lessons, groups work and partner work, but when it comes time for them to work independently or take a test they really struggle with staying focused. I am really looking forward to the changes these shields will provide in my students work.
