Ms. Waldrup from Nashville TN is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need printmaking supplies (brayers, watercolor paper and acrylic paint) to create more awesome, high quality artworks!

The students at our Magnet Middle School are very creative and love exploring new art media and techniques. The students get very excited when they get to try something new because many of them do not have access to art materials at home.
The students come from all over the inner-city in Nashville.
We are a Title One school in a gentrified neighborhood in Nashville. That means the students growing up in this area are seeing a lot of changes to their buildings and the people moving in. Many of our students' parents went to this school and the high school that they will go to. It is really neat that there are still families that have grown up in this area, and have continued to stay here in this area.
We need quality printmaking supplies to make awesome artworks in our middle school. We make different types of prints throughout the school year with all kinds of methods. I have noticed that the quality is not turning out so great because we only have paint brushes and low-quality tempera paint.
With brayers, we can roll our paint evenly onto our printing surface to make better looking, professional prints.
With new acrylic paint, our prints will also have a high quality look to them. We also use acrylic paint in most of our projects, since the paint is more opaque and better to work with for my students. The watercolor paper will be for printmaking too. I have noticed in past projects that watercolor paper tends to hold prints better than regular mixed media paper.
I know the students will be so excited to get to make prints with higher quality and more professional supplies!
