Help me give my students materials needed to explore printmaking. These Gelli plates are amazingly easy for students to use. They are reusable and will last for many years to come. These 2" brayers will apply ink smoothly.
My students are enthusiastic and artsy 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. At my school students are served art class starting in the 3rd grade. By the time they get to art their excitement is amazing to see. My school is in a small rural farming community and more than half of our students receive free and reduced lunch. As a farming and agricultural community my school has a diverse student body with a percentage of students who are English Language Learners.
My students have no or very limited experience with this awesome art process. I would love to share all the fun with them! Gelli plates are soft textured gel plates that can be rolled with printmaking ink. Students can then show texture by drawing designs into the ink and stamping to create a one of a kind prints.
My students are excited and love to learn something new in art!
It is so much fun to explore mew materials and processes. However, outside my classroom my students have very little to no art materials. I frequently buy crayons for my less fortunate students to use at home. I want to widen their little worlds and show them how much fun and boundless creativity can be!
