My Students
We are located in a quiet rural Arkansas town. This town is full of community support, has the best schools ever and the greatest students in the state! We help each other and support each other no matter the class, disabilities, or diversities.
Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, we are not, but we aspire to be!
We are smart, creative, inspirational, eager learners, explorers wanting to build our art program to where it needs to be at the high school level. We are ready to master the art of printmaking!
My Project
My students creativity will benefit greatly by having a printing press in the art room. At this moment the students are using spoons, craft sticks, hands or whatever found objects the room has to offer, to transfer the ink from the etched or carved surfaces to the paper. Why not make it easier?
A printing press should be a staple in every high school art room.
The press will not only foster student creativity through printmaking, but allow them to learn how influential and important printmaking has been throughout history. The students would have a variety of printing ink to choose from and paper favorable for printmaking in a variety of sizes.
