My students come from a variety of backgrounds and home environments, but they are resilient and come to school to learn each day. My students are ages 3, 4, and 5 years old and have moderate to severe low incidence disabilities ranging from autism to various genetic syndrome.
However, in my classroom labels hold no value.
My students hold so much potential and are capable of achieving whatever they set their mind to. I believe that every child can learn, it may not be in the same way or on the same day! Each student is wonderfully unique, creating a diverse group of learners with varying interests, levels of ability, areas of strengths, and learning styles. While each student is different, many effective strategies have been found to help students with special needs learn.
My Project
I need your help to provide my students with meaningful colored material through the purchase of a color printer and ink! My district does not provide teachers printers, which makes it nearly impossible to create meaningful materials that visually engage my students. This lack of funding has directly affected my classroom and my ability to create materials that support my students' unique learning styles. In the corporate world ink is a leisure, however in schools it is a necessity.
We desperately need a printer and ink to create and print visual supports, teacher made materials, newsletters to send home, letter to parents and assessment tools.
By donating to my project, you will be providing my students the materials they need to learn and master skills across subjects and abilities at school.
