Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a Title I school in a low socioeconomic area, and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. For some of our kids, these are the only two meals they have in a day.
Although some of my kids face many challenges, they are always eager to learn.
We have some military families in our school as well. Our school is located in a border city, and a few of my students moved here from Mexico and are English language learners. I'm always looking for innovative ways to teach my kids and encourage them to love school and learning.
My Project
Science is a class full of group activities and experiments. We work fast and we work hard! We want to have the tools needed to keep things rolling in science!
We want to learn about our environment, and ways to help protect it for the future, and this printer will help us print the materials we need to make this happen.
It is also hard when we run out of lab reports or printed materials when we are in the midst of experimenting! Having a printer in the classroom to scan and upload assignments to my computer, print extra copies of assignments, and print student work would make our lives so much easier!! We are a classroom full of technology, and having a high-tech printer will help us immensely!
We will also do a research project on a topic of environmental science that interests us, and we will be able to print the materials we create in COLOR if we get this printer! This printer is energy efficient, has a deep sleep mode, and automatically prints 2 sided to help us save paper, and energy! It is a win-win; we learn about our environment, and this printer will help us reduce our paper and energy use.
