Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a class of 24 wonderful third graders. Most of my students come from low income, single parent households. While many of them have difficult home lives, they still make it to school every day with a smile on their face and ready to learn.
My class is mixed with general and special education students.
They all love learning. However, they each have different learning styles. I am determined to help my students fulfill their needs and have a successful school year!
My Project
When students are interested and engaged in their learning, they soar academically. It is my goal to set up daily center activities when I create lessons. This way my students with special needs will be motivated and engaged in their learning. Being able to use a individualize learning by printing specific materials for each student will help my students learn in a motivating way.
A printer won't only aide me as their teacher, it will also excite students.
This year, students are learning to use Microsoft word to type their written work. How cool would it be for them to be able to print their own writing?!?
Finally, in third grade, students are just beginning to learn about the world around them and are taking on in depth research projects of different countries. It is important for my students to be able to print a wide variety of sources from the Internet as textbooks often fail to "give the whole story" about events in history.
