My district introduced a new program this year that gave my school an exciting opportunity to become one of the first to welcome this unique program into our community. Our program provides under-credited high school students with the opportunity to earn credits in a way that best fits their needs.
This program provides a very special opportunity for disengaged students by helping them reconnect with a school community.
Through our innovative Project-Based Learning curriculum, students have voice and choice throughout their modules. PBL curriculum not only provides students with the chance to feel proud about their work but also opens the door for social-emotional learning that they can use both inside and outside of the classroom.
Many students in our program have difficulties at home and this program creates a safe space for them to become successful.
Students in our program often feel misunderstood, but with our inclusive community, the same students are now taking pride in their work, their individuality, and their future.
I will use this printer and ink combination set up to print activity sheets and reading resources for my students. Each student reads at a different reading level and some have been struggling reading on the computer.
Taking all of their struggles into consideration, a printer would be a great resource to ensure the students are getting appropriate modifications, as well as encouraging engagement and success.
With the fast moving pace of our classroom community, the open flexibility, and unknown of the pandemic, having a printer that is easily assessable would be a world of a difference in our classroom.
