Ms. Walls from Flint MI is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a printer, ink, card stock, laminating pockets and a laminator to allow them to participate in hands on learning!

I found a wonderful new website: Teacherspayteachers.com. It is filled with games and activities to target articulation and language skills. All I have to do is simply download the activity, print it off and it is ready to go....well, that is, IF I had a printer.
I work in a fabulous elementary school.
It houses general education classrooms K-6 as well as special education classrooms. We have students who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically impaired, cognitively impaired and typically developing children all interacting with one another. Children do not feel different or excluded in this setting. My school is located in a high-poverty area of Michigan. We have all experienced budget cuts and have little funding for new supplies. As a speech therapist, I work with students with a wide range of abilities. Some children require speech therapy for the duration of their elementary years. They love learning, but can become tired doing the same old materials or looking at the same cards over and over.
By being able to print different activities, I will be able to build my students vocabulary and maintain a high level of interest. The children will be able to practice their sounds with new picture cards related to holidays and themes. Printing them in color would be an added bonus, as the children would be able to see the details in the pictures (especially helpful for compare and contrast activities). The laminator, card stock, and lamination sheets will allow my children with physical limitations to participate too. The cards will be protected from drool. Little fingers will be able to manipulate the cards without having to worry about ripping or bending the pictures.
Kids who are actively engaged in learning are going to pick-up on things and meet their goals quicker.
The bright colors and beautiful pictures of the activities I want to print off and laminate are sure to make learning fun. The supplies I receive will benefit over 65 kids immediately and many more over the years!
