I’m a special education teacher and I love my job. It’s amazing to witness a student move up one or more grade levels closing the gap between them and their peers on grade level.
I truly have the best job in the world.
The real reward comes from seeing them start to believe in themselves and move closer to meeting their goals. We deal with an astounding amount of paper work, but each goal met makes it all worth it.
My Project
We live in a digital world, but there are still so many printing needs daily. Working with students' with special needs requires progress monitoring, updated IEP's, new IEP's, various reports to show their yearly, monthly, or even weekly goals. Having access to a working printer is key to managing all these needs and more. When a student has an upcoming meeting often the best way to communicate with a parent to inform them of said meeting is by printing an invitation. After an IEP meeting, if the parent request a paper copy it may consist of 18-20 pages, not including Psychological reports, data collection, projected goals, weekly check-in reports etc. It is crucial to have access, within in my area, a working printer that allows me to meet the needs of my students and utilize time management avoiding long waits at the communal printer.
My students have my heart, help me give them the written word.
By supporting my request of a printer, you will be giving back to an often overlooked, unforgotten group of deserving, hard-working students.
