This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Established in 1979, our school provides educational and support services for children with hearing or vision loss. Some of the students have additional challenges that magnify the impact of the vision or hearing loss. Each of the students has special needs and requires extensive technology and assistance to succeed in a school setting. Students attend classes at one of three locations: the elementary campus, the middle school campus, and the high school campus. In addition, itinerant services are provided throughout county for students whose disability is not severe enough to require full time placement on one of the campuses. Services are also provided in neighboring counties. We currently have over 50 children in our elementary campus but serve over 350 throughout the school system.
My Project
We recently received a small photo printer for our students to use from wonderful sponsors on DonorsChoose.org and would like to get more paper and ink supplies.
Pictures help tell stories and save a moment in time!
The ink and photography paper bundle will be used with the new printer so the students will be able to print pictures for months to come.
The envelopes will be used for various projects throughout the year and to send pictures home with the students.
The mavalous tape will be used to hang the pictures the students print with their new printer.
The nose pieces will go on our visually impaired students glasses to keep them from slipping off their nose. Having these on hand at school saves the family a trip to the eye doctor.
