My Students

My classroom is unique, and I teach a life skills class. Each of my students is gifted in their own beautiful ways. My students have learning difficulties, but they are amazing, incredible learners.

Our classroom is set up differently than most classrooms to better meet the needs of our students.

In my classroom, we do stations so that my students are in very small groups. In this way, we are better able to meet the needs of each learner.

My classroom focuses on academic learning, but also provides students the opportunities to develop and practice necessary life skills. Developing these skills early helps to promote success for my students.

My Project

In our classroom, we implement individual student binders that are tailored for each student. In these binders, we have specific laminated items that students are able to reuse that target individual reading, math, science, and social studies goals.

These binders are essential for our student progress and growth.

Many of our students do best with color pictures and illustrations of items, so having ink for our classroom printer that allows us to print out items as needed is beneficial. Each of our students' items is also laminated so that the items can be reused until a student is ready to move on to a new concept. Having a larger classroom laminator would allow us to laminate file folders to add into student binders.
