My students need a printer, which would allow them to create manipulatives and other educational documents which will demonstrate their understanding of math skills and its history.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My eighth grade mathematics classroom consists of 80 students. Each of these students will demonstrate on the first day of school their eagerness to learn. Some of them come from single-parent homes, and others are being raised by other family members. My class is a multicultural class, meaning that various nationalities are represented.
As stated previously I will service 80 students from various backgrounds, including one student from Africa, eight students of Hispanic background, and one student from China.
In an effort to provide all students the best possible learning experience, they will be taught in some instances in a different language.
My Project
As the students learn mathematics, they are required to create various documents for group and individual use. As the students peer teach and tutor, they create visuals to share. Most of the students do research for various topics, as they share from class to class it would be ledgible for peers to read when created and printed for future use. Having this printer in the classroom would create a productive learning environment for the students. All printed documents would be teacher approved before printing. My students are very resourceful and work hard to take ownership of their education. They are our future.
