When students enter my class, it is often their very first school experience. They are boys and girls from very diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and abilities. Our classroom community welcomes all who enter to grow with us as we sing, dance, paint, share, eat and learn.
Throughout the year we have many celebrations to recognize holidays, birthdays and the wonderful accomplishments of our students.
My goal as a teacher is to expose my students to new and exciting materials and programs, in order to spark interest and creativity!
My Project
Pre-kindergarten is a very creative and colorful experience for my students. Throughout the year we closely study themes including seasons, emotions, community helpers, nutritious foods and even transportation. Each of these topics include immersion in literature, art, and discussion. I incorporate hands-on experiences whenever possible.
Having a color printer/copier with extra ink in the class would be a great addition to our daily routine.
I would be able to create and print out an endless assortment of teaching materials, such as food group charts or pictures of community helpers.
In addition, we take tons of pictures in class. This printer would allow me to print some of those photos and send them home to parents, to strengthen the home-school connection.
