My second graders have creative, colorful personalities, and I think their classroom experience should be filled with as much creativity and color as they are. They love to dive into a good book, solve a tough math problem, investigate a new science topic, and get outside and move their bodies.
My Project
Imagine a world without color. Boring! That's what my second graders and I are dealing with at this time. All of the supplemental resources I send home for my students are in black and white. I would love to be able to send home manipulatives and resources that incorporate color to help create and maintain interest, more clearly explain difficult concepts, and inspire my students to rise to the challenges presented in our curriculum.
With your kindness and generosity, I will be able to engage my students with more colorful resources, scan and copy their work to share with families and peers, and allow students to create more vivid projects of their own.
They will be able to receive what they need when they need it instead of waiting for me to get to the copy machine in the office. Less learning time will be lost searching their desks for the missing assignment or resource.
