My students need a MakerBot Replicator 2, and three spools of PLA Filament to develop creativity and design skills necessary for product manufacturing.
This project expired on March 11, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I want my students to discover confidence in their own creative & problem solving abilities. The biggest challenge is that many have never made a real product, and can not picture themselves bringing an original design to fruition. They have power to not only innovate but also to create.
My students are 9th -12 graders who are full of potential, ideas, and excitement about improving their world.
My school's motto is "Creating Champions for Life", it is an exciting learning environment and I am fortunate to be involved with these energetic young people.
Students will develop understanding of mathematical and technological skills as they are used in computer drafting to design and then make items of their own imagination. We will be using the free 1-2-3-D Make program to scan faces, and specifically, the first project will be masks.
Students will be able to personally follow through the process from idea, to design, to reality.
This will bring both rigor and relevance to their learning while reinforcing confidence in their abilities.
