My students need a multifunction printer to complete research and technology based projects.
This project expired on May 30, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
While technology is becoming more a part of everyday life, many of my students do not have the access they should. I have older computers and a printer that jams and barely works. My school does not have the funds to provide my students and I with a new printer.
My students are a bright, curious, motivated bunch.
Many are identified gifted, but not all. They come from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Some have access to technology at home, but many do not. They love working on research-based, independent projects, especially those involving technology.
As proficiency in technology is becoming a must in education, both for students and teachers, I want my students to have a place where they can learn and utilize these skills. Many of my students only access technology when they are at school. I require a number of research-based, independent projects each year to provide students with differentiaed opportunities to learn and explore. My students need to be able to print reports and create multimedia presentations across the disciplines.
This printer could greatly impact the learning and abilitites of many of my students, allowing them to reach beyond the four walls of our classroom.
It will help empower them and enable them to develop skills needed to move forward in our technology driven world. It will also help level the playing field for those students who do not have the same advantages of others.
