Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Who doesn't like to snap a photo? My students are eager to learn about photography, take their own photographs, and create photomongages. Unfortunately, we do not have a way to print their masterpieces.
My students are a creative group of elementary aged children.
Our school has kindergarten through sixth grade and is located in an urban setting. Our school is public, with most of our children coming from a low socio-economic background. Funding is tight, with little or no monies allotted for art materials.
My Project
I would love to be able to include more technology into my art lesson plans. I think photography is perfect way to achieve this goal. My students need a color printer with a scanner, printer ink, and copy paper for photography projects. A printer will allow my students to not only print their photographs, but then have the capability of creating photomontage and collage.
By donating to the project, you will enable my students to fully explore the art of photography.
There are endless possiblilities of multimedia projects that can be created through the use of a printer, including collage. This technology will truly open my students eyes to a whole new format of creating artworks.
