Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These kids live in one of the most impoverished cities in the state of New Jersey and come to school every single day with dreams and hopes for a better future. They are excited and enthusiastic about learning and participating in physical education as well as health. Many of our students have difficulty with the English language; they live in less than perfect situations at home and come to school hungry. They just need some support and some caring individuals helping them out.
My Project
My students need paper for our printers to incorporate 21st century technology into their health instruction. Technological literacy is essential if our students are to be competitive in a 21st century global economy. As a result of this, integrating technology into classroom instruction should be one of the top priorities of any good educator. Access to technology would allow students to be active participants in the learning process rather than passive recipients of information, which would ensure they develop a better depth of knowledge of the concepts they are learning. It also allows for differentiation not only on the basis of academic levels, but for interests, as well.
My students need printer paper for our printers to help them gain the skills that will enable them to compete in a 21st century global economy.
Using the paper along with the printer and, of course, a computer technology in a collaborative learning environment for researching and writing rather than just simple drills and practice helps foster student creativity, collaboration, and communication. The use of technology in the classroom allows instruction to be highly customizeable; students can work independently or collaboratively as active participants in the learning process rather than passive recipients of information.
