This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We live in rural Alabama with limited resources and a high level of poverty. The students in our school need to be supported to succeed academically and find how they best learn during this time of distance learning. I teach resource junior high level students in a small school. My students enjoy the flexibility of learning in small group environments and with teachers who look after not only academic but their needs as a whole. The more we encourage our students to succeed academically, the more they will thrive throughout their lives.
My Project
This printer and ink will allow me to print my assignments out and mail them to my students. We are currently teaching our students online, but due to our poverty stricken community many students don’t have access to the internet or a computer. So it is our jobs as educators to make sure that we can still teach our children during this pandemic. By mailing my students assignments that they can work on, they are still able to learn and they don’t have to stress about not having the necessary materials to successfully learn online.
