Help me give my students a Brother HL-L3290CDW Compact Digital Color Printer and refill ink so that they have immediate access to a printer at all times.
At the front of my classroom is the quote, "Exceed Expectations!" I always encourage my students to go beyond what is expected of them and strive to always work harder, practice more, be better, and to go beyond what teachers, parents, coaches, and friends expect out of them. My class is a diverse group of curious, active, and determined students.
I strive to create a happy and comfortable classroom where children can enjoy learning and each other.
My students aspire to do their best in school and they are very interested in technology. I enjoy placing technology in their hands so they can use it in many ways on a daily basis. Our school qualifies as a moderate poverty school.
My Project
My students need a printer in the classroom to publish their work and projects such as stories, reports, posters, and charts as well as photographs of their work and themselves in the classroom. Students enjoy seeing their own work printed out and it gives them a sense of accomplishment and pride when they can easily share their work with their fellow classmates, teachers, family, and the whole entire school.
By supporting this project, you will enable my students to have the opportunity to create and publish their own work in order to share with others.
My students also need immediate access to documents that they need for research or papers and materials that may meet an individual need at the moment. They should not have to wait until the teacher can get to a printer hours later or the next day to provide them access to printouts that are needed at a certain moment in the class day. A classroom printer will allow my students to plug in their own Chromebooks and connect to the printer (or use wifi) in order to print out drafts and copies of their work. Currently, they have to email me their documents. I have to open it up and print it out on the limited school printers somewhere else in the building. They shouldn't have to wait until I am available to get their work printed out by me. Sometimes they can't get a printout until the next day as I might be working with small groups or doing other things that do not allow me to print out their work. This wastes my student's time and enthusiasm when they are in the middle of a project.
