My Students
I am a Middle school math teacher who provides services to English Language Learners (ELL) in grades 6 and 8th grade. My class is a mix of bilingual, ICT, and ELL students that are newcomers to the U.S. They speak little or no English at all. For some students, Chinese is the primary language spoken in most of their homes.
My Project
Our school does not have the funds available to provide our grade level with a printer, so, in addition to students having to handwrite their assignments. Especially for math class where students have are unable to create new hands-on activities (such as graphic organizers, and anchor charts) for our students to use. This greatly impacts the day-to-day functioning of all of our classrooms, and we hope to remedy this problem with a new printer as well as black and colored ink.
It is essential that our students have their learning time maximized so they can focus on growing their brains and reaching their personal goals.
Our world needs our students to grow up and be able to change it for the better, and providing them with a quality education will make this possible.
