Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Spanish and AP Spanish Literature in a very small border town in New Mexico. My students range from 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. They come from different cultural and economical backgrounds. Most of them come from economically disadvantaged families. My students are amazing, they are always interested in pursuing their dreams and becoming bilingual.
If I could describe my class with one word, it would be DIVERSITY.
They all have a different way to impact my classroom with a unique personality and a positive attitude. I love to enjoy seeing them growing and pursuing their dreams.
My Project
This school year has been a total adventure. During the fall semester due to a ransomware attack, all my school district had to go old fashion without technology. Fortunately, we finally got our computers and the internet back in January. But... this Spring 2020 as we all know, teaching had to be transitioned into a technological mode as much as possible.
I am in need of ink cartridges so I can print material and resources.
Fortunately, I have been able to continue with my classes through Google classroom and other online platforms. But occasionally, I need to print material and resources at home, since I do not have access to our school's printer.
