My students need an HP color printer, laminating sheets and ink so I can create meaningful and interactive resources that will enhance their language needs and connect to county standards.
I teach at a Title I/STAR school where the majority of our students receive Free and Reduced-Priced Meals. We also have a growing Blessing in a Backpack Program, where students get to fill their backpacks with food for the weekend. Most of our students live in the downtown area of our town. Our students come from diverse backgrounds including different countries and cultures.
Despite the fact that they face many hardships outside of the classroom, our students come to school every day to feel safe, supported, loved, and ready learn.
Every day they strive to become better readers, mathematicians, writers, scientists, researchers, problem solvers, friends, leaders, and critical thinkers. They learn and practice skills that will ensure their successful futures.
These students are the future of our community and the world. I want to give them the best tools that will allow them to reach their goals, and help brighten each of their futures.
My Project
In the coming school year, about half of my class will be English Learners. The printer will be a fantastic resource that I can utilize to create resources to best support the specific needs of not only my English Learners, but for all my students.
The beauty of being able to select and create resources for my students is that I can target the specific skills, in reading and math, that they need to work on.
This makes learning more meaningful, AND I am able to customize the resources to incorporate their interests!
The laminating sheets, colored paper, and ink refills will help me create lots of resources, that will last the entire school year and beyond.
Thank you for helping make learning successful in my classroom!
