Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a Title I school in Washington, D.C. We don't get much funding for the students and it can sometimes affect our students in learning more. My students are anxious to learn new things and be exposed to new experiences.

There are so many needs for these students and I just want to make sure they have the best chance at succeeding.

My students come in every day eager to learn, and it is my hope to have a classroom set up to help them be their best. We are in need of donations to help build our students up.

My Project

We do a lot of learning in reading and decoding words in class. The students also check for understanding with the combination of the Lexia program that we celebrate if they complete a lesson. Completing a lesson is the biggest deal for my students. Everyone stops and goes over to congratulate the student who passed a level. The student then gets to receive their certification on the completed level. Having a printer will allow me to print their certificates in color and allow students to be that much more proud their earnings. Being able to see the students smile makes my day and theres.
