Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students lack fine motor skills which impacts their ability to write sentences or paragraphs with basic writing tools.
My students are in a Special Day Class in a low income community and attend a low performing school in Southern California.
My students are eager learners and have made great strides. All of them are children with moderate to severe Autism, and sometimes using a writing tool can become a challenge for them. For this reason, they prefer to type their writing work.
My Project
Having a printer available in the classroom for my students will mean they can print their work without having to wait. Some of the students in my class with severe writing difficulties will be able to print basic symbols to communicate their wants and needs.
A printer means my students can learn to use and take their knowledge and better their writing skills. This will help them become independent writers and will improve their quality of life.
My students will benefit greatly from having a printer in the classroom because having a printer means they can see their work instantly.
Additionally it will help improve their writing and communication skills, and it will improve their life. Students will be able to start preparing for the workforce by learning crucial technology skills that they will need for the future.
