My Students

My students are young inquiring minds that need resources to become global learners. They are a diverse group and excited to work as a team. Our school is one of four C.F. I. Magnet Schools in the Indianapolis Public Schools. We are focused on inquiry based learning through reading and writing workshop. Part of our mission is to develop socially responsible citizens in a changing global society. Our urban setting allows for multicultural experiences in our immediate neighborhood and beyond. My 2nd grade students are eager to be hands-on in learning experiences! Hands-on learning creates engagement.

My Project

We use the writing workshop model in my classroom. Students create books all the time. They have begun typing up their stories on Chromebook and need a wireless printer to print their stories.

This color printer and ink cartridges will give student authors the opportunity to feel like real, published authors.

Most of my students prefer typing to hand-writing a final draft and with the printer, they will be able to do this. This, after all, is where our world is headed. Incorporating this technology into the classroom is going to be very exciting for my students. "Print, Please" will be music to my ears.
