Help me give my students a printer for the classroom. The printer will give me the freedom to take photos and print them in color, having them ready on the spot for in-class projects and activities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I work with will have their first experience in school when they enter my classroom. I have 20 young friends, between the ages of three and five who are excited and eager to learn. All of the children are from a low-income area, and each day in the classroom is a new experience for them. For many, it may be the first time they will be exposed to basic academic learning skills such as colors, shapes, letters, and numbers.
My Project
My classroom is in need of a color printer. We currently do not have a printer in the classroom, and if I need a photocopy from the Preschool curriculum I must run to the second or third floor of the school to print out a poor quality copy on the xerox machine. It seems that most of the time the photocopy machines are offline, jammed or out of ink. This printer will allow me print what I need for everyday learning from the curriculum in the classroom.
I enjoy doing projects that are personalized with color photos of the children, the color printer will allow me to finish the projects on the spot, without having to take the photos to the store or print them out as black and white photo copies.
The copy machine is a much needed item in my classroom it will highlight and personalize the children's classroom work. It will also give the children and their families pictorial keepsakes for years to come!
