My students need to have lots of visuals to help them through out the day. We need to have a printer to help create these visuals for them.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The ASD Nest program is a program for high functioning students with autism spectrum disorders that takes place in an integrated co-teaching class in a community school. The ASD Nest program helps children learn how to function well academically, behaviorally and socially in our school.
Our children are simply amazing.
These students are an exceptional bunch, all with their own unique qualities and offerings to our classroom community. They all have our own personalities, which amaze us. Whether it is with their compassion, humor, or empathy, they touch our lives every single day. We are learning from them each and every day. They are just remarkable children.
Our school provides a nurturing environment, which allows students to feel comfortable in working toward their goals. The faculty and staff promote teamwork among each other as well as among the students.
My Project
We will use the printer to create helpful visuals for the students in order to promote their independence and communication. Visuals clarify the material being taught. Using pictures to facilitate language and overall education and understanding is essential in any program for students with autism. Researchers agree that one hallmark of those on the autism spectrum is that they better understand the world in pictures. While verbal communication is often subject to interpretation, clear, objective visuals can be used to easily convey intended meaning.
Visuals make learning more permanent. They are a useful resource for teaching and enable the development of a wide range of skills. They are especially valuable in teaching young learners, as this group requires as many nonverbal prompts as possible. Furthermore, there are many English language learners in our class, who benefit from the visual representation of abstract concepts.
By donating to our classroom, you are helping us be able to differentiate in our classroom.
Everyone learns differently. Let us try to educate everyone in different ways and, by donating, you will help us teach our students.
Donations to this project will be greatly appreciated by the teachers and all of the students in our class. They truly are a great group of kids, who deserve to have access to all of the supports that they need to succeed socially and academically.
