This year our school went 1:1 iPads and it has been an amazing adventure. Although we are learning other ways to share out creations, it would still be nice to have the option to print a project or two so that we could easily share it with others--even those without technology!
Our school is a Title 1 school with over 1/2 of our students being on free and reduced price lunch.
We are located in a small suburb of St. Paul, MN. We love to do all the regular things kids do--playing games, doing fun activities, and working on our new iPads. We are excited about the opportunity to learn about technology and grow as part of a global community!
My Project
We are learning to use our new iPads in many different ways. One of our favorite things to do is express our individuality by showing our thinking creatively by using many different apps--comics, movies, sideshows, pictures, self-created books, etc. One of our struggles is that in this digital age it is sometimes hard to share our creations with those that don't have technology. Sometimes it'd still be nice to be able to see our work on the bulletin board or lining the hallway. Unfortunately our school doesn't have any wireless printers, and we don't have emails (we're only 9 after all) to get them to the wired printer, so our work seems trapped...at the moment. We know a printer won't solve all our issues, so we continue to explore other options (QR readers, blogs, etc) for sharing our work, but a printer would be one avenue that might help us...and where you come in! Please think about helping us get our creative work out of the iPad and into the world!
We know this donation will improve the way we can share our knowledge and achievements with others.
Sharing with others helps us feel good about what we've accomplished, and lets others be proud of us too!
