My students need an empathy belly to understand pregnancy. This suit will show them what it is like to be pregnant. This suit will be worn by both male and female students.
The students that I work with often come from poverty stricken homes. These students often have to work very hard to succeed in the community in which they live. The school that they go to does not always have the nicest and finest things, so therefore they miss out on the opportunities that others schools experience. I want to help these students keep up to date and learn as much as others their age.
These students are all so very special!
They are smart and caring. My students have been together in such a small community for so long that they often worry about and help one another. There are some that do not care to come to school or find it boring, as teachers we need to find a way to draw them in and show them that learning is fun. These students deserve so much more than I can give them, but every little bit helps and every year I try and give them more and more.
My Project
This pregnancy suit will make a difference in each student who wears its life. This suit will show them what actually comes with being pregnant. They will experience the discomfort of weight gain, frequent urination, and even back discomfort. I hope that in having this suit the students will think twice about having unprotected sex, and will influence them to think about their future.
There is so much so be learned by my students.
They often think that they know so much about the world around them. I want to give them a realistic view at the consequences that may come with their future choices. I want these students to really think about real life and not just in a fantasy. They mainly come from poverty stricken homes, and have grown up social security and disability checks, and many think that is their future. I want them to know that having babies is not all rainbow and sunshine, that this is a forever life experience. I want these students to want to do more with their lives.
