My class is an early childhood Pre-K class. My students bring me joy every day and are some of the sweetest, smartest, and wonderful little humans on the planet.
My students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, culture, and home lives.
Unfortunately, the global pandemic has not only affected academic skills, but their social and emotional skills as well. With a variety of resources and experiences provided in the classroom, I believe they can counteract the negative effects of the pandemic and begin to flourish in their social, emotional, and academic skills.
The dolls and baby care station can help my students act out caring for others. I chose a kitchen set, washing machine, and a work bench so students can participate in roles that are needed in every day home environments. The dress up items will allow my students to role play in real careers.
With the items purchased through this grant, my students will be able to start their discovery in who they are or desire to become as an individual.
My students will also collaborate and use their imagination in role play to foster their ever growing social and emotional needs and skills.
