Creativity, imagination, problem solving and collaboration are key components to authentic learning in our classroom. I have high expectations for every student. It is my responsibility to provide a variety of learning opportunities to help each child meet or exceed their goals. Our school is a K-2 school with approximately 1,100 children enrolled.
We have a diverse population of ethnic backgrounds, a growing ELL population, a high percentage of students who need accelerated learning opportunities, and students who need reading and math interventions to help them establish a firm foundation for successful learning.
My Project
My students will love designing and printing t-shirt designs to inspire others and show their school spirit. At the beginning of the year, I teach lessons about kindness and growth mindset. I would love for students to design their own creative, inspirational shirts to print and wear. I will also use the heat press to design and print class t-shirts using student art work. Students can learn how to design and advertise during our economics unit and learn about the steps to production of products. These materials will encourage and motivate students to be creative thinkers and graphic designers, and they will be excited to see their artwork come to fruition on a t-shirt!
