Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

This is another year. I would like to recognize 13 students that pass the Presidential challenge fitness test. I'm asking for someone to please help these students. Let's recognize them by giving them what the program offers them such as T-shirts, lanyards, bumper stickers, emblem, magnet and certificate. These items will encourage students to become life long participant of fitness. I teach physical education at C.H. Bynum Elementary School in Kinston, NC. We are 90% black and about 90% of the students are on free or reduce lunch. The program involved every student in the school except Kindergarten. I had 173 students to participate. Only 13 passed the test, which was an increase from the previous years with 8 and 1 respectively. I will need 13 bumper stickers, 13 certificates, 13 magnets, 13 lanyard and 13 t-shirts. I want to be able to put smiles on these student faces as they walk across the stage to get their reward. I want to see them become health conscious role models. This will help them to realize why staying active is important.
