Presidential Election 2008 - Opportunity Once in 4 years

My students need 5 Packs of Future President Stickers, 6 doz Future President Pencils, the book "Pete for President", 3 packs of Really Good Gazettes, and 30 copies of the Scholastic America's Presidential Election workbook.

I will be teaching fourth grade social studies in the upcoming school year to at least three classes. Our school is located in a low-income area. Funds are extremely limited, especially for current event type material. We have no funds to purchase teaching resources for the upcoming Presidential Election.

This is a once in every four year opportunity to teach students about our presidential elections. Our fourth grade students will only have maybe two more opportunities to learn about the election process while they are in school. The next opportunities will be in 8th or 12th grade. Depending on the classes they take, this opportunity in fourth grade may be the only one they have. Shortly after they graduate from high school they will be our future voters. They will hold our future in their hands and it is essential that they know and understand the process and the importance of their participation in the election of the president of the United States.

I need teaching materials, gazette forms, a book "Pete for President", stickers and pencils related to the election. These materials will help my students learn more about the election process. I will have students use internet and/or newspapers to advocate for one candidate or the other to make the process as real as possible.

Please help me teach my students the importance of voting and the process involved in selecting the President of the United States. It is essential that we educate the future American voters. It is our future and theirs. Please help. Thank You.
