Preschoolers With Autism Need a Clean and Visual Classroom
My students need a clean and organized classroom. The disinfecting wipes, baby wipes, and cups will be used every day. The other cleaning supplies, such as dish soap, broom and dustpan help maintain order and hygiene.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 3-5 year olds with Autism and other special needs, including Speech and Language Impairment. My students' disabilities are moderate to severe and their learning is supported by the use of visuals, organization, and minimalism. We are a Title I school; 50% of my students are also English Language Learners and 100% of them are also eligible for free or reduced price lunch, meaning they come from low-income homes.
While most of my students do not speak in words yet, they are kind, curious, and bright children who love to learn.
My Project
My students with special learning needs require constant use of hands-on materials and images to understand new concepts. Many visuals end up in their mouths and; therefore, we need to maintain a clean classroom.
We use visuals and images as prompts for circle time and learning new vocabulary.
Visuals and pictures also support the learning of my students who are English Language Learners. Using Polaroids and visuals helps my students learn new words and concepts.
My students also benefit from the documentation of activities and projects. Our Polaroid camera is a central part of creative projects, self-efficacy, and self-reflection for students who are learning about how they learn. The Polaroid film will be used by students to document work and by me to document and create learning prompts. Our class will use the cups, wipes, broom, Polaroid, bubbly timers, Velcro, and hooks everyday to remain organized, clean and visual.
