Preschoolers... Tiny Bodies, Big Feelings Learning to Control Emotions

I need to attend this virtual workshop to learn strategies to support my students as they navigate through difficult emotions that may impact their ability to regulate their feelings, and impact their ability to learn.

My Project

My 3, 4, and 5 year old PK students and adorable and lovable. They greet friends, teachers, and staff with a smile and a hug each day. They are extremely energetic and emotional little people that sometimes have a hard time regulating their feelings.

I want to attend this professional development to learn strategies to support my students and help them develop the skills necessary to be able to name their feeling(s) and identify how to regulate strong emotions.

I want to teach students the skills they need to identify/name the feelings that lead to disruptive behavior and/or outburst. I want to support my students and teach them how to manage and regulate feelings so that they are able to engage in meaningful learning. Students that are experiencing strong feelings cannot learn in a meaningful way. It is my goal to have a meeting with our other PK teachers and the parents of our students to share this information. As a school community, it is important for teachers, parents, and other valued stakeholders to speak a common language in order to continue practicing the skills in school and at home.
