My Pre-K classroom is located in a rural elementary school in West Virginia. Parents transport their children to us four days a week, hoping that we can give their child the social experience they are hoping for. I always enjoy helping my students learn how to interact and get along with each other, but I also hope that they will benefit from the many learning experiences that we provide.
Our school has long been known as a community school, where staff members and parents alike want the best for their children.
Teachers work hard to challenge all of their students, so they get the most out of their school year. Parents work to help their children achieve, as well. Parent volunteers come into my classroom and help me achieve my goals for the children. We have a true "family feel" in our school.
My Project
Because preschoolers are naturally wiggly, I needed to come up with a way to contain these wiggles at calendar time. I wanted to offer wiggle cushions to those that need it, but the problem is that everyone wants one.
I would like to provide sensory wiggle cushions and fidget toys to all of my preschoolers during calendar time.
I have a few wiggle cushions already, but it becomes an issue trying to give everyone a turn. I would like to have enough on hand, so that every student has the opportunity to have either a wiggle cushion or a fidget toy during calendar time each day.
