My students need the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. My students live in a small bayside community that was severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy several years ago. Some houses in our community are just being fixed now and others are still waiting. I teach in a low-income school district which means many of my families work very hard to provide for their families with many of them working more than one job.

My students are the best thing about my job. They are creative, lively and eager to explore our world. I look forward to seeing each of their bright sunny faces every day.
My Project
I am requesting materials to help enhance my students learning of math concepts. I am requesting fishing sets for sorting and counting in the water table. I have also asked for key sets which allow for color and shape identification as well as counting. Another item I am asking for is a counting cookie jar set for my house area.

I am also requesting alphabots so my students can use robots to explore letters. One other item in my project is the magnetic writing boards which will allow my students to write, draw and explore numerals and letter shapes.
These items will help rejuvenate my classroom and add new materials to each area to stimulate learning in my environment.
