Hello! I teach Early Childhood Special Education. I have two classes that I teach. A morning and an afternoon class that consist of 8-10 children each. Each of my students is here for a reason and has qualified to be in the program. They have various needs that may include speech, behavior, learning delays, health impairments, autism or various other reasons.
My students are all awesome and special in their own ways.
Their joy and excitement for learning and coming to school make each day that much more enjoyable. They come off the bus with smiles on their faces and ready for the day.
Preschool children learn best through using various materials to manipulate and play with. I always strive to give them the best learning opportunities possible.
My Project
I am doing virtual teaching this year of a early childhood special education classroom. This creates a special challenge in that I am needing to send materials home. The students that I teach are 3-5 years old and all of them are on IEPs. Typically, preschoolers learn best with hands on materials and when trying to teach virtually it gets very difficult to accomplish that. All of the families have different materials at home, if any at old, to help their children in the learning process.
I am asking for gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers so I am able to access printable materials that are age appropriate for my preschoolers.
This way I can print off activities to send home. Learning on the computer is very difficult for a lot of these students due to their ages.
I am also looking to get some additional alphabet and number materials that I can use when creating videos to send home to them. This will bring their learning to life more for the students through the camera.
